54th Annual Potawatomi HikeNew this Year! Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Scout with the Order of the Arrow at the Potawatomi Trail Hike. The Centennial Committee will be hosting a Geocache Course at the Dunes. So bring your GPS.When: Saturday, March 27, 2010 Download the Potawatomi Hike form. Attendees: Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Crews and Families are all welcome by Michigamea Lodge. Cost: $4 (includes the 2010 Potawatomi Hike Trail Patch), no advance registration is needed The Indiana State Park may charge a daily entrance fee of $5.00 per vehicle with Indiana License Plates and $10.00 per vehicle with Out-of-State License Plates. The entrance fee for a bus is $1.00 per person on board the bus. The Order of the Arrow Concession Stand will offer coffee, donuts, pop, hotdogs, chips, candy, and hot chocolate. Directions:

About the HikesMichigamea Lodge sponsors two hikes during the year, the Deep River and the Potawatomi Trail Hike. These events offered by the Lodge are great opportunities for Scouts and Scouters as well as their families to experience some of the wonderful recourses in our own back yard. The hikes are open to Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers, Venturing Crews and Families. Hikers can choose either a 5, 10 or 20 mile hike. While at the hike, Lodge Arrow men will be serving the Calumet Council Scouting Community with our Lodge Concession Stand. |

Deep River HikeThe Deep River Hike was held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Deep River County Park in Hobart, Indiana. The Lodge welcomed the Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers, Venturing Crews and Families to participate in a fun day of hiking in the outdoors. |
